Cliffhangers From ANGEL's Finale May Finally Be Resolved
Read on to learn what's new for Angel in 2005 ...
Remember a while back, when Rich mentioned the license for Angel possibly moving from Dark Horse to IDW? Well, it’s happened. The deal just went down recently and the first Angel miniseries from IDW will hit in Summer 2005. A creative team hasn’t been finalized yet, though Joss Whedon will be onboard as an advisor. Whedon isn’t currently expected to write any of the stories himself, as his time is still divided between Astonishing X-Men and the Serenity feature film. So he’s already got a lot on his plate even if those Wonder Woman movie rumors don’t pan out.
Incidentally, this doesn’t affect the Serenity license at all, which looks to be set at Dark Horse. Nor does it cover the rights to Buffy The Vampire Slayer. In fact, certain characters like Buffy (and possibly Willow) can’t be used by IDW at all, at least under the current deal. However, a Faith miniseries may be in the cards and certain lingering cliffhangers from the Angel series finale may finally be resolved.

Spike Comic Book plot line revealed by his writer
From PeterDavid.net - By Peter David - 2005-03-13th
Yes, as per the Newsarama item, I will be writing a one-shot "Spike" comic for IDW in August. Long time "Buffy" fans will appreciate the concept that Spike winds up squaring off against none other than Hallie the Vengeance Demon, who has a rather unique connection to Spike that was hinted at during season six of BtVS. This story will actually address that connection, shedding some interesting light on Spike’s origins.

To Shanshu
I’ve been told that IDW’s upcoming Angel miniseries will have a number of variant covers by Tim Bradstreet, Igor Kordey, ChrisCross, John Byrne, Kelsey Shannon, Ben Templesmith and others. The Bradstreet and Kordey covers debuted on Newsarama, but we’ve got the first look at Byrne’s cover below:
Also in the thread at Newsarama, IDW Editor-in-Chief, Chris Ryall revealed that Peter David will write a Spike oneshot which will be coming out in August.
